DATA – some say that stands for “Dull And Tedious Always”.

However, with the rise and rise of the infographic, savvy businesses can breathe a bit of life into the data they want to talk about, without a graph in sight. Infographics are visual representations of data. A picture tells a thousand words, and your customers are far more likely to respond favourably to something a bit cool, than to sit down with a cup of tea, and give themselves a headache trawling through an Excel spreadsheet. Anyone who needs to communicate data would do well to consider one of the online infographics creators, or engaging the services of a specialist who can rattle off a compelling graphic in the time it takes you to analyse 1000 lines of numerical data. Infographics aren’t hard to produce, but they require a creative approach to make sure that the final result is received with enthusiasm by the intended audience.

We’ve spent a few days looking at infographics on the web, and this one caught our eye. It combines information, advice and statistics to provide a complete guide to the do’s and don’ts of preparing a pitch to potential investors, and it’s eye-catching and funky. There are plenty of cool infographics out there, but this one (via Nibletz) is particularly relevant to the Catalyst Centre, so we’re very happy to give it some blogspace.
