Rolling, Rolling Rolling…The Start-Up Bus Tour reaches Winchester…

Thursday 18th July saw the return of Start-Up Britain’s “Start-Up Bus”, an initiative supported by BT Business, Intuit, Iris and Paypal, that brings together local business experts with the Start-Up Britain team, who have acres of experience helping budding entrepreneurs to get their ideas off the ground. The Bus was greeted at Winchester Guildhall by Mayor Ernie Jeffs, who was delighted to welcome the Start-Up Britain initiative to his town, seeing it as a fabulous opportunity for local people to take charge of their own futures by starting their own businesses.

Visitors to the bus were able to spend time with the visiting entrepreneurs, discussing the validity of their ideas, finding out about, and in some cases, applying for, funding, and discovering some of the national initiatives available to help them start their own business.

Why do we want to talk about this? First impressions may suggest that we’re in competition with one another, but we don’t see it that way. Through The Catalyst Centre, we want to help entrepreneurs with great business ideas to grow their business and succeed, but sadly we can’t help everyone. It is for this reason that we wholeheartedly stand behind, and recommend organisations with a similar ethos to our own, and the Start Up Bus is one of our favourites, as it truly does set the wheels in motion (Geddit!) for local people across the UK to take control of their own destinies and make their own futures.
